Since its founding in 1993, CUUBUUS architects & developers has already implemented a large number of pioneering projects in Austria and the CEE countries. More than 902,000 square meters of usable space were planned and designed. Thus, in addition to the focus on residential buildings and loft conversions, there are also projects in the areas of offices, hotels and shopping malls.
CUUBUUS identifies innovative trends with prospects for the future at an early stage. As such, we can look back on a long tradition of sustainable, ecological architecture. CUUBUUS has been one of the pioneers in the field of sustainable construction since the 1990s – and we remain true to this tradition. Our plans already take into consideration the consequences of increasing energy scarcity and other environmental influences in order to ensure the optimal use of energy and operational aspects of the property.
With 30 years of company existence and thus decades of valuable experience in the development of new construction projects, our expertise also includes the revitalization of existing buildings and the expansion of attic space. Every reconstruction project requires special detailed knowledge, legal, technical and economic know-how. Architecturally, the challenge lies in the successful symbiosis of historical flair and contemporary aspirations. Ing. Eduard Mair MAS
Eduard Mair is CEO and founder of CUUBUUS. He started back then and still hasn’t lost any of his passion 30 years later. On the contrary: once he has a vision in mind, he pursues his goals with ambition, perseverance and a large portion of Tyrolean charm. His commitment to quality applies not only to our projects, the working methods of all involved, but also to himself. With golf and flying – Eduard has a pilot’s license & years of corresponding flying experience – he clears his head and gets new ideas. Driven by his passion for architecture, he will probably continue to be on the lookout for exciting projects and extraordinary buildings for the next three decades.
Harald Jessl
Our guy for finances and therefore always the right intuition when it comes to investments. Although not related by blood, but a living part of the family – Harald has been a partner & member of the management team at CUUBUUS for over 25 years. As a father of 4 boys, he is used to hustle and bustle and noise, thus the situation at home is frequently similar to that on the construction site. His commitment is exemplary, he takes a personal interest in each of our projects and sometimes his voice resounds very passionately through our halls. The native Viennese finds compensation for bank appointments, mezzanine capital and investor reports as a passionate sailor on various routes at sea, preferably through the Mediterranean, or behind the wheel – the hobby kart driver already has one or two trophies on his shelf.
Mag. Patrizia Hunter
As the next generation of management, Patrizia is following in her father’s footsteps and has been managing the operational business at CUUBUUS for several years with the same enthusiasm and passion, enhanced by female intuition. Tyrolean charm meets Viennese coolness – the mother of a son can’t be ruffled by anything, and her energy is remarkable. In addition to her sales expertise, which she proves during on-site visits with our customers, she also confidently steers all projects strategically to their destination. Fascinated by the country and its people, she likes to go to Ibiza as much as to the ski slopes of the Tyrolean mountains.
Ing. Nina Mair BCom. MSc.
Besides the name, which obviously connects her to her father, Nina, as a studied expert with a degree in real estate management, is predestined to be the next generation of management – together with her sister Patrizia, she sets the course for the CUUBUUS generation change. In the course of various trainings and studies as well as numerous stays abroad, among others in Canada, Nina has not only traveled far, but above all gained valuable experience, which she can apply at CUUBUUS in communicating with our international customers. Mainly responsible for the acquisition of new projects, she is also a valuable member of the team from a sales point of view. In addition to her passion for flying – she is a pilot herself – the enthusiastic diver is constantly making plans in her head for her next trip.
DI Arch. Erich Maria Markh
The calming influence and solid rock – hardly anyone radiates as much patience, confidence and sovereignty as the head of our team of architects. Erich steers through every project (no matter how challenging) with an unwavering composure and focus, always maintaining an overview, not least due to his decades of experience and thus acquired expertise. As a man of fine intellect, he appreciates culture and art, culinary delights and a good glass of wine. When not working on his project planning, he finds compensation in traveling and city trips.
DI Arch. Gernot Zuckerhut
Our cliché and exemplary architect – hardly anyone in our team serves the common role model of this profession as well as Gernot: Preferably dressed in black, he is not only an incredibly pleasant, humorous colleague, but also an exceptional talent when it comes to designs and layout. With his exceptionally good eye for detail and with the help of his immense imagination, he is able to put the vision he has created in his head onto paper in no time. After completing his studies and working mostly abroad, the native of Salzburg finally pitched his tents permanently in our federal capital and has been a member of the CUUBUUS team since 2005. Balancing out his professional life, the family father finds his best way to relax is by riding his motorcycle.
Mag. Claudia Baumgarten
Responsible for the advertising and communication appearance of our company, Claudia is the woman behind all printed matter, ad subjects and media plans for our real estate projects. Originally a communications graduate, she has now found a profession at CUUBUUS that her heart beats for: Functional building aesthetics inspire her just as much as press release formulations. As a mother of a 4-year-old daughter, she is constantly expanding her skills and (not least thanks to various playground visits with children’s autonomy aspirations) is an accomplished expert in conflict management, making the impossible possible and realizing dreams & wishes.
Ing. Gernot Lippert
A dry sense of humor, extensive technical expertise, coupled with life experience and diverse interests – that’s the best way to describe our guy from Perchtoldsdorf. In addition to his great passion for civil engineering and careful planning, another subject is at least as close to the heart of the father of two: Good food. So as long as the lunch table is ensured, you can have just about anything from this colleague. Almost never in a bad mood, he has also been an integral part of the CUUBUUS team for almost two decades, including the relocation of various company locations.

Mag. Arch. Joao Passanha
As one of those who have been with the company for over 15 years, Joao has already implemented countless CUUBUUS projects. The native Portuguese impresses especially with meticulous accuracy and attention to detail. Not only is he an architect with a passion, but he is also culturally interested, a dedicated dog owner and a travel enthusiast. The tall blond with the black glasses finds a balance to polishing schedules & Co in his weekly choir rehearsal – we enjoy his vocal performance at every Christmas party.

Ing. Günter Rurlander
Our primeval rock, or in other words, one of the rarefied detailed planners that every good architecture company longs for. Thanks to his impressive know-how and decades of experience, Günter is a valuable expert in his field, and every day we repress the fact that he, too, will probably take a well-deserved retirement at some point. Yet the passionate cat lover is still in office, scribbling ingenious details within minutes and finding solutions that others would not have thought of. Unwavering commitment, impressive (work) dedication and a charming “grumpiness” characterize the hobby gardener, whom you can always inspire with beautiful architectural projects, moreover, with good home cooking.

Ing. Barbara Hasil
With her distinctive laugh and her open winning manner, the sunny power woman from Lower Austria is an enrichment for our team in many ways. Having spent the last few years both as a self-employed structural engineer and employed in planning offices, we were finally able to convince Barbara to join us full time and thus now become a REAL CUUBUUSian. In addition to her many years of extensive professional experience, this enthusiastic diver is distinguished above all by her great love of renovation projects. Sometimes we may be irritated as accidental ear witnesses during phone calls of our new colleague – we have to get used to consciously perceive the last letter of her last name, as we are otherwise surprised about the natural use of affectionate pet names to greet complete strangers 😉
DI Arch. Benjamin Lehner
“Ben”, as the likeable colleague prefers to be called, has been working for the competitor for the last 17 years, and since February we have now been able to welcome the native of Baden-Württemberg to our team of architects. In addition to his enthusiasm for working on construction sites, he impresses with his extensive experience in construction technology, his know-how and, above all, his high level of competence in detailed planning. In his spare time, the father of two also likes to deal with technical matters – and as a friend of cultivated beer, he swaps the art of building for the art of brewing. In this context, Ben loves the summer (preferably in his own garden), enjoys barbecuing and is generally a sociable person who likes to have friends around him. Professionally, the self-confessed puzzle and basketball fan steers calmly, comfortably and, not least, with a large portion of dry humor, even through stormy construction phases to the (completion) goal.
Serap Kaya-Firat, BSc.
As a new female addition to the CUUBUUS family, we are happy to welcome Serap, our energetic and self-confident cheerful nature. She studied at the Vienna University of Technology and then worked full time for 3 years in a renowned architecture firm, where she accompanied all planning phases, before she joined CUUBUUS in March of this year and has since enriched our team of architects with a lot of positive energy. As a gifted amateur photographer, our colleague is equally enthusiastic about design planning as she is about polishing plans, and she also has a good eye for detail in her private life. Her creativity is generally something that runs through her life – whether with sensational baking and cooking skills, guitar and keyboard skills or her incredibly great voice – Serap is always able to impress us anew, both on a building and human level.
Petro Stefiniv, MSc.
With Petro we gained another valuable member in our CUUBUUS family in August. The studied architect, with an honors degree from the University of Lemberg, amazes us with his sensational dry humor and impressive mindset. True to the motto “The way is the goal”, the Ukrainian-born architect’s main focus is on active & creative design and the feasibility of his ideas – the end result speaks for itself anyway 😉 According to his own statements, he likes to get himself out of the comfort zone from time to time and consciously faces new challenges, such as the current job change to CUUBUUS. For Petro, the incentive for this was above all our projects in upscale residential construction as well as our activity not only as a builder, but also as a project developer. The married cineaste with a wide range of interests, who by the way met his wife during his studies, finds a balance to his professional life with his great passion, spin fishing, a very sporty fishing method, which Petro has practiced with great enthusiasm since his childhood. Preferably traveling in Norway, he has hooked one or the other 22kg fish.
DI Arch. Katarina Ivusic-Kuvikova
Since August, we are pleased to have further female reinforcement in our planning team. Katarina is not only a qualified architect and sworn civil engineer, but also holds a degree in structural engineering and civil engineering. True to her lived motto “Active instead of passive” her joy of design and design motivation also finds its way into her private life: The last few years she and her husband have renovated a press house in the Kamptal valley in a modern way, whereby it was important to her not to change the outer appearance. Not only metaphorically, she can now harvest the fruits of her labor and enjoys using the fruits and vegetables from her own garden there in cooking to relax. In her job, Katarina is an all-rounder, both on the construction site and in front of the PC, and finds all phases of work exciting, from the preliminary design, to the coordination with the authorities during the submission planning, to the detailed planning, to the ÖBA. As a very cheerful and open team player, the native Slovakian otherwise only corresponds to a common professional cliché: her favorite colors are black and white 😉
DI Arch. Diana Kottas
We are happy to announce that since October our team of architects has been strengthened by a new female member: Diana is not only an extremely competent professional with many years of professional experience and valuable expertise, but the Bulgarian-born architect is also a real enrichment for our team on an interpersonal level. Although her natural authority can sometimes make a stern first impression, Diana is now able to inspire us all the more with her warmth and sensational baking skills every day as we get to know her better. Thanks to her extensive professional experience in architecture and residential construction projects at home and abroad, she acts with unmistakable coolness and a sovereign routine that is unparalleled, even in the greatest hustle and bustle. In addition to her passion for design planning, the gifted piano player and mother of two (grown-up) children finds private balance and fulfilment above all in art, culture and cuisine.
DI Mathias Auer
The “&” between “architects & developers” and our guy for (almost) all matters. Trained in the Viennese startup scene, he can be deployed in a wide variety of entrepreneurial areas, which is why we like to call Mathias our “Swiss Army Knife”. The passion for project management in real estate development was sparked for our environmental & civil engineer from the Mostviertel during an internship at CUUBUUS. Since then, in addition to his amazing talent for collaborative site management, he has been an inspiring, humorous and helpful team player who always keeps his cool and stays on top of things. When he’s not on the job at construction sites, the Star Wars fan enjoys his free time on road trips, devouring biohacking and business books, or recharging his batteries for his busy workdays while visiting family and friends in his hometown.

Johannes Klinglmair
Born in Upper Austria, Johannes found his way into the architecture industry via a circuitous route. After completing his apprenticeship and working for 12 years in his original profession as a plumbing and air conditioning technician, Johannes decided in 2019 to pursue his interest in urban planning and building aesthetics and to build real buildings instead of castles in the air. So he swapped his tranquil country life, including membership of the local fire department, for a new chapter in his life as an architecture student at TU Vienna. At CUUBUUS, the enthusiastic culinary fan is now responsible for warranty management. His ability to represent the interests of all parties involved in a thoughtful and considered manner and bring them to a successful conclusion with remarkable calm and strong nerves is not least due to growing up with three sisters. Defect rectification, meeting deadlines, coordinating on-site inspections, documenting protocols, and all of that under time pressure… – who can do this? Johannes! 🙂
Barbara Böswarth
The first and friendliest face you meet when you walk in the door at CUUBUUS. As the good soul & organizational talent, Barbara ensures that our daily office routine runs smoothly, coordinates all appointments and receives inquiries from interested parties or service providers. The mother of two grown-up sons finds a balance to the hustle and bustle of the office with long bike rides in the countryside or enjoys some well-deserved peace and quiet on hikes in the mountains.
Danijela Brankovic
As soon as you enter our premises, you are greeted by our friendly receptionist Danijela. As a mother of two sons, nothing can shake her and the native Viennese with Serbian roots skillfully manages reservations, appointments, meetings, mail, suppliers and internal coordination requests at the same time, all with a smile on her lips and a remarkable calmness. When she’s not making sure the office runs smoothly at CUUBUUS, the cheerful power woman can be found at the soccer field cheering on her sons.
Elisabeth David
A soft spot for numbers and a passion for invoices, this enthusiasm is probably shared by very few. Our accounting expert really gets into top form when it comes to invoicing and discount deduction, no cost center remains hidden from her. As the mother of (now almost grown-up) twin daughters, Elisabeth is used to operating simultaneously as well as maintaining an overview and, above all, keeping her cool. She finds a balance to her office life by cooking or relaxing with a good book.
Monika Hoepers
Our colleague Monika, (preferred “Moni”) with a high affinity for numbers takes care of invoices and coordinates accounting at CUUBUUS. Where others prefer to look the other way on this subject, the native of Klosterneuburg devotes herself to every single decimal place with great commitment and attention to detail. Her interest in clean form, straight lines and the correct bottom line may also stem from her active past in line dance, which she now prefers to enjoy as a visitor in the audience rather than on stage herself. As an enthusiastic Harley Davidson co-driver and frequent visitor to concerts and cabarets, she combines a wide range of interests in one person. In addition, the mother of two adult sons enjoys being out in nature, preferably on the water.
