Since its founding in 1993, CUUBUUS architects & developers has already implemented a large number of pioneering projects in Austria and the CEE countries. More than 902,000 square meters of usable space were planned and designed. Thus, in addition to the focus on residential buildings and loft conversions, there are also projects in the areas of offices, hotels and shopping malls.
CUUBUUS identifies innovative trends with prospects for the future at an early stage. As such, we can look back on a long tradition of sustainable, ecological architecture. CUUBUUS has been one of the pioneers in the field of sustainable construction since the 1990s – and we remain true to this tradition. Our plans already take into consideration the consequences of increasing energy scarcity and other environmental influences in order to ensure the optimal use of energy and operational aspects of the property.
With 31 years of business experience—and thus decades of valuable expertise in the development of new construction projects—our expertise also extends to the revitalization of existing buildings and the conversion of attic spaces. Every renovation project requires specialized, in-depth knowledge as well as legal, technical, and economic expertise. Ing. Eduard Mair MAS
Eduard Mair is CEO and founder of CUUBUUS. He started back then and still hasn’t lost any of his passion 30 years later. On the contrary: once he has a vision in mind, he pursues his goals with ambition, perseverance and a large portion of Tyrolean charm. His commitment to quality applies not only to our projects, the working methods of all involved, but also to himself. With golf and flying – Eduard has a pilot’s license & years of corresponding flying experience – he clears his head and gets new ideas. Driven by his passion for architecture, he will probably continue to be on the lookout for exciting projects and extraordinary buildings for the next three decades.
Harald Jessl
Our guy for finances and therefore always the right intuition when it comes to investments. Although not related by blood, but a living part of the family – Harald has been a partner & member of the management team at CUUBUUS for over 25 years. As a father of 4 boys, he is used to hustle and bustle and noise, thus the situation at home is frequently similar to that on the construction site. His commitment is exemplary, he takes a personal interest in each of our projects and sometimes his voice resounds very passionately through our halls. The native Viennese finds compensation for bank appointments, mezzanine capital and investor reports as a passionate sailor on various routes at sea, preferably through the Mediterranean, or behind the wheel – the hobby kart driver already has one or two trophies on his shelf.
Patrizia Hunter
As the next generation of management, Patrizia is following in her father’s footsteps and has been managing the operational business at CUUBUUS for several years with the same enthusiasm and passion, enhanced by female intuition. Tyrolean charm meets Viennese coolness – the mother of a son can’t be ruffled by anything, and her energy is remarkable. In addition to her sales expertise, which she proves during on-site visits with our customers, she also confidently steers all projects strategically to their destination. Fascinated by the country and its people, she likes to go to Ibiza as much as to the ski slopes of the Tyrolean mountains.
Ing. Nina Mair BCom. MSc.
Besides the name, which obviously connects her to her father, Nina, as a studied expert with a degree in real estate management, is predestined to be the next generation of management – together with her sister Patrizia, she sets the course for the CUUBUUS generation change. In the course of various trainings and studies as well as numerous stays abroad, among others in Canada, Nina has not only traveled far, but above all gained valuable experience, which she can apply at CUUBUUS in communicating with our international customers. Mainly responsible for the acquisition of new projects, she is also a valuable member of the team from a sales point of view. In addition to her passion for flying – she is a pilot herself – the enthusiastic diver is constantly making plans in her head for her next trip.
DI Arch. Erich Maria Markh
The calming influence and solid rock – hardly anyone radiates as much patience, confidence and sovereignty as the head of our team of architects. Erich steers through every project (no matter how challenging) with an unwavering composure and focus, always maintaining an overview, not least due to his decades of experience and thus acquired expertise. As a man of fine intellect, he appreciates culture and art, culinary delights and a good glass of wine. When not working on his project planning, he finds compensation in traveling and city trips.
DI Arch. Gernot Zuckerhut
Our cliché and exemplary architect – hardly anyone in our team serves the common role model of this profession as well as Gernot: Preferably dressed in black, he is not only an incredibly pleasant, humorous colleague, but also an exceptional talent when it comes to designs and layout. With his exceptionally good eye for detail and with the help of his immense imagination, he is able to put the vision he has created in his head onto paper in no time. After completing his studies and working mostly abroad, the native of Salzburg finally pitched his tents permanently in our federal capital and has been a member of the CUUBUUS team since 2005. Balancing out his professional life, the family father finds his best way to relax is by riding his motorcycle.
Ing. Gernot Lippert
A dry sense of humor, extensive technical expertise, coupled with life experience and diverse interests – that’s the best way to describe our guy from Perchtoldsdorf. In addition to his great passion for civil engineering and careful planning, another subject is at least as close to the heart of the father of two: Good food. So as long as the lunch table is ensured, you can have just about anything from this colleague. Almost never in a bad mood, he has also been an integral part of the CUUBUUS team for almost two decades, including the relocation of various company locations.

DI Arch. Benjamin Lehner
“Ben”, as the likeable colleague prefers to be called, has been working for the competitor for the last 17 years, and since February we have now been able to welcome the native of Baden-Württemberg to our team of architects. In addition to his enthusiasm for working on construction sites, he impresses with his extensive experience in construction technology, his know-how and, above all, his high level of competence in detailed planning. In his spare time, the father of two also likes to deal with technical matters – and as a friend of cultivated beer, he swaps the art of building for the art of brewing. In this context, Ben loves the summer (preferably in his own garden), enjoys barbecuing and is generally a sociable person who likes to have friends around him. Professionally, the self-confessed puzzle and basketball fan steers calmly, comfortably and, not least, with a large portion of dry humor, even through stormy construction phases to the (completion) goal.
Mathias Auer, DI, MBA
The “&” between “architects & developers” and our guy for (almost) all matters. Trained in the Viennese startup scene, he can be deployed in a wide variety of entrepreneurial areas, which is why we like to call Mathias our “Swiss Army Knife”. The passion for project management in real estate development was sparked for our environmental & civil engineer from the Mostviertel during an internship at CUUBUUS. Since then, in addition to his amazing talent for collaborative site management, he has been an inspiring, humorous and helpful team player who always keeps his cool and stays on top of things. When he’s not on the job at construction sites, the Star Wars fan enjoys his free time on road trips, devouring biohacking and business books, or recharging his batteries for his busy workdays while visiting family and friends in his hometown.

Barbara Böswarth
The first and friendliest face you meet when you walk in the door at CUUBUUS. As the good soul & organizational talent, Barbara ensures that our daily office routine runs smoothly, coordinates all appointments and receives inquiries from interested parties or service providers. The mother of two grown-up sons finds a balance to the hustle and bustle of the office with long bike rides in the countryside or enjoys some well-deserved peace and quiet on hikes in the mountains.
Monika Hoepers
Our colleague Monika (who prefers to be called “Moni”), who has a knack for numbers, handles invoices at CUUBUUS and coordinates the bookkeeping. While others might prefer to steer clear of this topic, Monika—a native of Klosterneuburg—devotes herself to every single decimal place with great dedication and an eye for detail. Her interest in neat presentation, clear lines, and the correct bottom-line result may also stem from her past as an active line dancer—though these days she prefers to enjoy line dancing as a spectator in the audience rather than on stage herself. As an avid Harley-Davidson rider and frequent attendee of concerts and cabarets, she combines a wide range of interests in one person. In addition, this mother of two adult sons enjoys spending time outdoors, especially by the water.
